JoyRx Plants Roots in Texas

JoyRx Music began serving Austin hospitals in 2018 and, to date, has transformed through joy the treatment experience for nearly 1,500 kids in seven Texas pediatric hospitals. After years of progress and partnership with local hospitals and the business community, JoyRx Music is amplifying service outreach and impact in the Lonestar state.

To that end, we’re excited to announce that JoyRx has hired the organization’s first Texas-based staff, operating out of a downtown Austin office. This marks the second JoyRx business location, with headquarters based in Portland, Oregon. Dedicated local staff include a Director of Development, South; a Director of Programs, South; and a JoyRx Music Specialist.

“We’re thrilled to be growing our presence in Austin with full-time local staff and a downtown address, enabling us to exponentially expand Joy-based programming to the children and families in Texas who need it most,” said Danielle York, CEO of JoyRx/Children’s Cancer Association. “Our friends on the JoyRx Austin Leadership Council, made up of market business leaders and our growing long-standing partnership with the team at SXSW have been integral to our growth in Texas — we wouldn’t be here without their incredible support and generosity.”

JoyRx Music is currently serving patients in Texas at Dell Children’s Blood & Cancer Center, Dell Children’s Comprehensive Care Clinic, Dell Children’s Medical Center, Children’s Medical Center Dallas, Methodist Children’s Hospital, and St. David’s Children’s Hospital and Children’s Hospital of San Antonio, with plans to grow the list in the coming months.
