Welcome Lindsey Sanders
We are thrilled to welcome our new Regional Executive Director, South, Lindsey Sanders, who officially started at JoyRx earlier this month.
With over a decade of experience, Lindsey Sanders is a dedicated nonprofit professional who has held pivotal roles in renowned organizations, including five years at the American Cancer Society and three years at the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Most recently, she served at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas for three years, making a significant impact on the lives of families facing medical challenges.
Lindsey is excited to bring her extensive expertise and passion to her new role, and she’s eager to lead with vision and compassion to further the organization’s mission — and we’re excited to have her on the team!
While she’s still hitting the ground running, we asked her a few questions about why she chose to join JoyRx:
JoyRx: You have a long history of working in the nonprofit space. What originally attracted you to this line of work?
Lindsey: My Austin-based high school required a certain number of volunteer hours to graduate. While completing these, I discovered my deep passion for helping others.
At sixteen years old, it became my life’s mission to work in a nonprofit — and I’ve never looked back.
I got my BA and MS in Nonprofit Management, and I have worked or volunteered with over fifteen different Austin-based nonprofit organizations since then.
After over a decade of experience and achieving huge wins for the organizations you served, what attracted you to JoyRx? What potential do you see for the organization?
JoyRx aligns so perfectly with my personal passions. My volunteer work as an adult is very similar to the work our JoyRx Music Specialists do — working directly in pediatric hospitals. It was the perfect fit.
The expansion opportunities for the South region are enormous. We have giant medical systems in Texas that I just know would value the services that we provide to children and their families. In the coming years, I would love to see our specialists in hospitals all over Texas and surrounding states!
What are you most excited about in this new role?
I am excited about the huge opportunity that Austin holds to support such a special mission. The potential growth opportunities in this market are infinite, and I look forward to tapping into all that our community brings to the table for JoyRx.
What would you say to someone who wants to get involved with JoyRx?
Call me! No, seriously. We value any and all community support and would welcome all time, talents, and treasures.
(Editor’s Note: You can contact Lindsey by calling 512-848-4646 or emailing LSanders@JoyRx.org.)
What brings you joy?
So many things! Mother nature, meditation, my family, knowing I’m making a positive impact in the world — just to name a few.
Anything else you’d like to share?
I'm deeply honored to step into the Executive Director position and look forward to working with our team, partners, and volunteers to advance our reach and our mission.
